Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021
At Laquan Smith, I worked closely with Laquan with fabric selection and sketching. Throughout the 3 seasons we worked closely together, before COVID hit, we would talk through his vision for the season, looking at inspiration tears, details, and fabrics that were inspiring to him, and I would then work on designing into these ideas. With a focus unique fabrications often not used, this position gave me the opportunity to think outside the box on fabrication and draping.
During this position, I also worked closely with the stylists leading up to fashion week, to ensure that looks were in order for the show, and models were dressed and prepped before walking on the runway. I worked with the atelier after model fittings before the show for any tailoring that needed to be fixed preshow as well.
During this first season, my first challenge was to work on a denim capsule for the collection for the Laquan Smith x Jordache collab for the season. With touches of Western Influence, exaggerated cuts, and animal prints influenced the entirety of the collection.
spring 2020
Furs, leathers, wools, and an exploration on the contrast between extreme cuts and traditional womens clothing - this season focused on pushing the traditional “Fall” Seasonal collection.
We worked on cropped puffers, vinyl and leather pants, wool sets, leather dresses.
fall 2020
During this season, my contract with the Laquan Smith Team was ending, so I worked on a couple initial sketches, assisted with some initial research, and sketches based on print developments.
spring 2021
During Covid Quarantine, I worked on a capsule collection for Laquan Smith for Forward. It focused on comfortable, but chic and sexy clothing. Clothes that will still make you have fun, even during lockdown.
